Care for every kind of companion

Pet sitting and dog walking in SW Calgary, four ways, all with the same promise: your pet's day stays exactly as happy as you left it, and you get to see the proof.

Dog Walking

Adventures, sniff stops included

Dog walking in SW Calgary at your dog's pace, whether they're a power-walker or a professional sniffer. Rain, shine, or full Calgary snow.

  • Walks sized to your dog's energy
  • Sniffari pace, because it's their walk
  • Fresh water & a paw towel-off after
  • A photo and a little note after every outing

Feeding & Drop-ins

Meals, meds & a little company

Short drop-in visits that keep the routine humming while you're out: bowls filled, meds given, chins scratched. This is my cat sitting service too, since most cats would much rather stay home.

  • Meals on schedule, special diets followed to the letter
  • Fresh water, every single visit
  • Oral & topical meds (injections case by case)
  • Litter box & tidy-up duty
  • Tanks & terrariums: fed, checked, lamps and filters running
  • Mail brought in, plants watered

Companionship

Quality time while you're away

For pets who mostly just miss you. Play sessions, brushing, enrichment games, or quiet couch company. Whatever fills their cup.

  • Play & enrichment sessions
  • Brushing and gentle grooming
  • Extra patience for shy or senior pets
  • All the belly rubs they can handle

Overnight Care

Sleepovers, so no one sleeps lonely

Overnight pet sitting in your own home (house sitting with pets, if you like), evening to morning, with bedtime rituals kept exactly the way they like them.

  • Evening through morning, in your home
  • Bedtime routines followed to a T
  • Morning feed, walk & fresh water
  • Your home kept cozy and lived-in

Both optional, both by request. Just mention them when you text.

Pet Portraits

Drawn by hand, from your photo or mine

I'm an illustrator when I'm not out on walks. Send me a favourite photo, or let me use one I snap during a visit, and I'll draw your pet into a custom portrait you can print, frame, or set as every wallpaper you own. Keepsake portraits of pets who've passed are drawn with extra care.

  • Drawn from a photo you love (or one I take)
  • One pet or the whole crew
  • High-resolution digital file, ready to print
  • Usually ready within a week
  • With a booking or all on its own

House Cleaning

A general clean, sized to your home

Come home to a house that's fresher than you left it. Surfaces wiped, floors vacuumed and mopped, pet areas freshened, and the fur that collects wherever fur collects. Every home is different, so we'll talk through what you'd like and I'll quote it need by need. It's a general clean, not a deep one: dishes, carpet shampooing, and mould are off the list.

  • Surfaces wiped down
  • Floors vacuumed & mopped
  • Pet spaces freshened: bowls, beds, litter corners
  • Added to any visit, or booked on its own

the classic combo: a week of overnights, then a fresh house waiting the day you land.

Pairs nicely with overnightsFur: handledOn its own, too

So, what does it cost?

Every pet and schedule is a little different, so I keep it simple: text me what you need and I'll send a straightforward quote. Extras are quoted the same way, and we agree on everything before you book. No pressure. Promise.

Questions, answered

What area do you cover?

I'm based in SW Calgary near Chinook Centre and happily cover the neighbourhoods around it: Haysboro, Kingsland, Kelvin Grove, Chinook Park, Eagle Ridge, Bayview, Meadowlark Park, Windsor Park, Britannia, Elboya, Altadore, Lakeview, North Glenmore Park, Oakridge, Palliser, Pump Hill, Braeside, Southwood, Fairview, Acadia, Willow Park. Not sure if you're in range? Just text me. I'm flexible, and it never hurts to ask.

How does booking work?

Text me at 250-218-7475 with your pet's name, the dates, and what you need, and I'll get right back to you. For overnights and longer stays we always meet first, at your place, so everyone (especially the furry one) is comfortable. For walks and drop-ins a meet & greet is there if you'd like one, and it's always free.

How much does pet sitting or dog walking cost?

Every pet and schedule is a little different, so I quote by text instead of posting a price list. Tell me what you need and I'll send a straightforward number. Things like extra pets, farther neighbourhoods, or special needs can change it, and we agree on everything before you book, so nothing changes after. The meet & greet is free.

How do I pay?

By Interac e-Transfer to payments@petcarebycharlie.com, once we've agreed on the total by text. That address is only for payments; questions go to hello@petcarebycharlie.com or my phone.

Do you do cat sitting?

Yes, and it's a big part of what I do. Cats are usually happiest at home, so I come to them: drop-in visits for meals, fresh water, litter, meds if needed, and as much or as little company as they want. How often I come depends on your cat, so we'll settle on a schedule when you text. Shy cats get extra patience; some of my favourite clients took three visits to say hello.

Do you take care of multiple pets?

Absolutely. Bonded pairs, full fur families, the more the merrier. Tell me about the whole crew when you text.

Can you give my pet their medication?

Yes. Oral and topical medications are no problem, and injections can be arranged case by case. Before the first visit we'll walk through the routine together so nothing gets missed.

What training and experience do you have?

A lifetime with animals first: dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, small pets, and the odd hen. On paper: a Pet Nutrition Certificate from UC Davis, animal care aide coursework, and time volunteering with a TNR cat rescue (trap, neuter, return), where the shyest cats taught me patience. Ask me anything about it when you text.

Will I get updates while I'm away?

Every visit comes with a photo and a little note, so you'll never have to wonder how they're doing. (Fair warning: the photos are very cute.)

How do you handle keys and home access?

Whatever you're comfortable with: a lockbox, a fob, or a key handoff before the first visit. Everything is kept secure and returned when you're home.

What kinds of pets do you care for?

Dogs and cats are my regulars, and I'm just as happy looking after reptiles and aquatic pets: feeding, tank and terrarium checks, heat lamps and lights, the works (frozen-thawed feeders are fine; I don't feed live rodents). Birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and other small friends too. Just ask!

When are you available?

Weekdays and weekends, and the schedule is flexible. I take the major holidays off (Christmas and New Year's), so if you're travelling then, let's talk early.

What happens if my pet gets sick or hurt while I'm away?

I call you first. If it can't wait, I'll get them to your vet, or the nearest emergency clinic, myself where I can, and keep you posted the whole way. Vet costs stay with you, so before a booking I'll ask for your vet's details and a quick note saying I can bring your pet in.

Something else on your mind? Just ask. There are no silly questions about someone you love.

Let's find the right fit

Tell me about your pet: the quirks, the schedule, the favourite spot behind the ears. We'll take it from there.

talk soon, Charlie
